Every ROKR Music Box puzzle kit is equipped with a spring-wound musical movement. When you turn the key, the spring stores energy and then slowly releases it to power the drum or pin cylinder. As the drum rotates,  it strikes tuned pins that produce the melody. This classic mechanical design is what gives ROKR Music Boxes their sound.

To change the melody, you'll need to replace the internal music movement. In ROKR music boxes, the movement is securely fixed inside to ensure it stays stable when the key is wound. Therefore, before replacing it, you should consider a few factors: size, shape, fixing method, and whether the winding key can still be turned from the outside after replacement.
