Beginner’s Guide

Check out these solutions to common problems you might encounter before and during assembly. Whether you’re building for the first time or looking to improve your skills, these tutorials will help you.

Unbox a ROKR Kit
When you receive the box, it will be wrapped in a thin protective film. You can use a utility knife to gently cut the film. Before opening, please check that both the box and the film are intact and undamaged.
Arrange Parts
Arrange all the items from the box neatly on the table and check for any missing parts. Each box usually includes several wooden sheets, a paper instruction manual, and a few auxiliary tools.
Read the Instruction Manual
Before starting the assembly, it is recommended to read through the instruction manual to familiarize yourself with its contents and the assembly process of the puzzle kit.
List Auxiliary Tools

When assembling a 3D wooden puzzle, some auxiliary tools are needed. It is recommended to have a utility knife, wax blocks, glue, cotton swabs, and other assisting tools on hand. ROKR kits usually include sandpaper, an auxiliary hammer, spare parts, and more.

Remove the Wooden Pieces
Be extra careful when removing parts from the template. You can use a utility knife to cut the connection points around the parts to avoid damaging them.
Wax a ROKR Gear Part

Applying a layer of wax on moving parts, such as gears or sliders, can reduce friction and help them move smoothly. Please note that wax blocks are not included in the kit and need to be prepared separately. You can also use alternatives like beeswax or petroleum jelly.

Sand a Wood Part
Wooden parts removed from the template may have some burrs. Use sandpaper to remove them. You can also use a file in addition to sandpaper.
Use an Auxiliary Hammer
You may encounter parts that are difficult to fit into others. Use the auxiliary hammer or the helper parts mentioned in the instruction manual to assist in pressing the pieces together.
Reinforce with Glue
If a part breaks or becomes loose, you can use glue to connect and reinforce the pieces.
Fix a Warped Wooden Board
Moisture or prolonged exposure to heat may cause the wooden sheets to warp. If this happens, follow the method shown in the video, lightly moisten the sheet, press it flat with a heavy object, and let it dry naturally.
